What part of NO don't you understand?

I never thought the day would come when I’d have to take such drastic measures. After months and months of asking people not to text me, I’ve gone to the lengths of implementing text message blocking on my cell phone. Had I known about this handy little feature before…

There isn’t anything in a text that can’t be communicated by calling me or leaving a message.  If you can’t talk, chances are you should be focusing on what you’re doing or who you’re with at the present moment.  We’re not in high school, so it’s not like we must text or risk getting sent to the principal’s office for talking.

My text offenders were:

1) People at work who shouldn’t be f-ing around asking me what I’m doing.

2) People in the same room with me, or sitting next to me…who are just texting me ‘cuz they know how much I hate it.

3) People who will never have the balls to call me, but think that they can have a texting relationship with me by sending me a text that reads, “Baby…”

4) People who are out with other people, but are bored and being rude by typing meaningless messages to me.

5) People who are hoping their girlfriends or wives can’t tell what they’re doing.  Hint: lose my number altogether.

Other than that…I have no opinion about texts one way or the other.

  2. I know this is an old post, but it is hilarious nonetheless. I certainly do not mean to make light of your hatred for Text Msgs, but your list of offenders is truly classic!! :-)

    Now I just wish I had ENOUGH friends that would text me so I too could be offended!! :-( lol

  4. Jon, thanks for visiting! I have no problem with you making light of my irritation. I try to find humor in whatever shape/form is available.  Maybe you\’ll like this message. Its for people who send those lovely chain e-mails:

    Free Pass


    I have to say that I am so annoyed with all the people who keep sending chain letters of good/bad luck. I don\’t want to read them. I don\’t want the thought of bad luck, and I think you who send these stupid messages over and over again, which I also have done from time to time out of superstition, should stop sending them right now.
    But what I am creating here isn\’t one of those, but a free pass. This is a free pass to save your head and heart from having to send or resend any stupid chain letter ever sent to you. You will not receive bad luck. You will not lose the one you love. Your family members will not die. Nothing bad or good will happen whether you decide to send or not to send those STUPID stupid chain letters.
    For decades people have hated getting them in their post office mail and now I\’m pretty sure people hate getting them over email. So here it is. It\’s a stop and desist order free from any and all responsibility to have to send, resend, etc. any and all stupid chain letters that require the reader to do the same. They really mess with the mind of the superstitious as well as the people whose luck is so bad most of the time that they either don\’t want to make it any worse, or are in some sort of way trying so hard to make it better.
    Okay, if you read this then there are some rules.
    1. You don\’t have to do anything if you don\’t want to, and you can just delete it and I\’m sure your bad/good/whatever luck you have will remain intact and your love life will remain as stressful/unstressful as it ever has been.
    2. If you want to, you can send this to any and all people who have sent you one of these kinds of messages, or someone you think might be on the path of doing this. But you are under no obligation to do so.
    3. Repost, email, send this to anyone if you think it might stop at least me from getting any more of these stupid kinds of letters/emails.
    4. If you follow all these steps your luck will be the same as it ever has been. Your phone might ring, just like it randomly does when you are called by telemarketers, friends, relatives, or even a wrong number as has always been the case since I would guess Alexander Graham bell. Phones ring all the time. People get calls that\’s all there is to it. It is no special sign.
    5. A love interest may or may not fall for you. That is life. That is how it works. People think and do fall in and out of love all the time. I can tell you I am wishing you the best with this one. I hope you would do the same for me. No one wants to feel alone. Everyone wants someone there with them for the important times in life including the loss of it.
    Life is hard and if you took the time to read this, I for one am wishing you all the best. But I am making no promises, and not applying any rules to make this happen.
    7. Please feel free to do whatever you want with this message at any time and lets just just say because of that you will have the life you have always dreamed of. If you are a mean and spiteful person who thinks bad things and performs those acts to others, then stop it. Humanity is a disease, and the only cure is helping each other. Be good, and good luck to you all.

    I had not gotten one of those in a while, but I actually got one last week. Of course it was from someone I barely know!! lol

    If I had not already deleted it, I would have sent this on!! lol

    You are a very accomplished writer Jeanne. Where does this talent come from?? Is it natural or did you study journalism?? Hopefully you dont mind my asking.

  6. One LAST thing, I JUST viewed your pic on the cover of \\\”Inside Kung-Fu\\\” magazine, and I would like to say that going forward I will:

    1) Always use proper punctuation in my commments from now on.
    2) I will keep my comments to a minimum.
    3) From this moment going forward, I will refer to you as the honourable Ms. Chinn from now on!!! lol

    VERY intimidating pic!! My hands are clammy and trembling now as I type!

    I will be more careful with my words and comments from now on oh Honourable Ms. Chinn. ;-)

    Oh and btw, I was unable to make it to the SAG awards or Sundance, but I did watch them on the Telly!! lol

    P.S. In rethinking my comments I ASSUME (but you know what they say about assuming!) you realize I am just joking about the Inside Kung Fu cover. I certainly respect both Martial Arts in general and your specific skills. I was just making a stupid joke! LONG WEEK!!

    I don\’t know how you came across my site, but I\’m glad that you visited!

    Thank you for telling me that you enjoy my writing. I appreciate that. It was difficult for me to start blogging as I do not have a degree in English or Journalism. I don\’t even use spell check! I do, however, have an opinion. I just write and hope that it resonates out there. Degrees, and grammar don\’t interest me as much as WHO a person is.

    I\’ve had fellow artists tell me they\’re surprised that I share my personality and thoughts with my fans and/or website visitors. My personality is what sets me apart from the rest, so why hide it? I\’m dissatisfied when I go to a performer\’s website only to find a photo and a resume.
    As for the \”Free Pass\” post. I did not write that. I got it from a friend of mine and I loved it.

    I hope you enjoyed your weekend. Its nice to have a little free time to respond to your posts. Its not always this way!

    ps. Ok, I don\\\’t know how to use the spell check feature.  AND I don\\\’t know how to keep those stupid slash marks from appearing every time I type an apostrophe. Grrrr.

  8. Well if it makes you FEEL any better Jeanne, I am reading your replies in Reverse order…so a little thing like your SLASHES are not going to bother me.

    Also to clarify a little. I am NOT yet a fan. lol Although I am a HUGE fan of your personality so far. You really are quite charming. I find your sharing of your feelings combined with your humourous slant VERY REFRESHING. Unfortunately somehow telling the TRUTH and being honest with people seems to get a bad rap anymore!! Also unfortunately I am too old and too stubborn (some would say too STUPID! lol) to tell anything BUT the truth.

    I really have NO idea how I stumbled upon your blog (I am sure that is what ALL STALKERS say as they are being hauled away by the police!! lol). I will take it somewhat as FATE. Either that or just too much time on my hands this weekend after a long flight back from the UK. lol

    That being said, like a good stalker (KIDDING OF COURSE!! lol), I did my homework and say that you were going to be on \”Charmed\” on Tues, and I have set it up to be recorded.

    I will feel like a PROUD FATHER watching it even though I have NO IDEA who the heck you are yet!! lol

    Btw, I live in Chicago (even though I am not there often), so you dont have to worry about the stupid Stalker jokes. But they WERE meant to be a JOKE, but I realize is it NOT really a joking matter…sorry.

    Going to watch my Alma mater play in the NCAA (basketball) Championship tommorrow. Wish me luck!!

  10. Ok….I have NOW \”officially\” seen Jeanne Chinn doing her \”job\”. I downloaded the \” Weeds\” episode. It was fun to see you!!

    I have lots of questions for you IF you decide to allow me to ask them. That is up to you, I would understand either way.

    Btw…should I send YOU a DVD of me doing consulting work so we are even???? lol

    And D/L the Weeds episode does not make me a stalker…merely curious and TOO IMPATIENT to wait until tomorrow for \”Charmed\”!!! :-p Btw the impatient part IS true…but I am working on gettng better about that!! lol

    Also, to answer a previous question of yours, I got the Charmed and Fat Albert info off of IMDB and Yahoo TV. IMDB shows info on when your next appearance is. Ah yes, the amazing internet!!

    I dont mind giving you my email addy on here if you want to somehow tell me an email addy where I can send it to you. Btw that little boy wasnt REALLY crying!! lol

    I do have lots of questions though.

Btw off the record, I dont know if you are really considering starting a business or not, but I can tell just from reading your blog (your sense of humour and some of your inner core that you have shared) that you extremely talented Jeanne in many ways, and I can see you have many passions, so I would HIGHLY encourage you to pursue that if you are considering it, without even knowing the concept, because I believe in YOU and YOUR abilities!!
